New Fortnite update for their Lego mode adds the ability to tame and domesticate animals

What’s Lego Fortnite?

Every gamer who plays video games for even a very small portion of their day has certainly heard of Fortnite. But what they might not know about is Lego Fortnite. Lego Fortnite is just a few months old and not many people might know about it. Lego Fortnite was introduced as a new game mode in the new Fortnite season 1 of chapter 5 alongside other two game modes called “Rocket Racing” and “Fortnite Festival”. Lego Fortnite is Epic Games’s own shot at building a brand new survival game inside Fortnite as we knew before. Think of it as Roblox which has multiple games and you can play whichever one you like.

How does Lego Fortnite work?

Survival mode

Lego Fortnite is a survival game built by Epic Games in collaboration with Lego. It is a survival game just like any other out there such as Minecraft. The entire Lego Fortnite map is at your disposal and you can do whatever you want to do in it. You can craft tools and build structures and buildings. Structures and buildings can be made by yourself or by using a predetermined build. You can buy more Lego Fortnite sets for buildings in the item shop to gain access to more structures. You can build a village and upgrade it to get access to better gear and accommodate villagers. You can assign work to villagers to speed up the production of useful items. There is no end goal in Lego Fortnite so you can play it till you get bored of it.

Sandbox mode

Lego Fortnite offers an additional game mode to its players called the Sandbox mode. In sandbox mode, you gain the ability to fly around for faster traversal. You also have access to all the build recipes in the game and there are no material requirements to build anything. The sandbox mode is designed solely to experiment with things. Players can conduct research more easily in sandbox mode and better understand Lego Fortnite and make their survival playthrough easier.

How to obtain Lego Fortnite skins?

Because Lego Fortnite is a new game mode within Fortnite itself, Epic Games decided to give all the existing Fortnite skins a separate Lego Fortnite skin. This means that every single skin in the game has a unique Lego variant associated with it for Lego Fortnite. If you already had Fortnite skins in your account, they will also have a Lego Fortnite. Not every skin in the game currently has a Lego Fortnite skin but Epic Games is working on it.

Taming and Recruiting animals

The new Lego Fortnite update is focused mainly on improving animals. There are now pigs in the game and you can tame and recruit pigs, cows, chickens, and sheep to your village. To bring animals to your village, you’ll need to build the new Animal House station. You can unlock the recipe for the animal house once your village reaches level 2. Upon building an animal station, you’ll also obtain the recipe for animal treats which can be fed to animals to bring them to your village. Once an animal is in your village, you can assign an animal house to it. The animals will need to be taken care of to produce goods but you can also assign that job to a villager. Different animals produce different goods so bring the one which satisfies your needs.

New Bear mob and animal variants

Not all of the animals will be your friends like the Bear. Bears can be avoided easily by just walking quietly so make sure not to wake one up. There are also new brown and tan and yellow variants for chickens and different spot patterns and colors for cows.

Increased villager capacity

To easily manage the new animal house station, the maximum villager capacity of a village has been increased from 5 to 7 which means you’ll not have to re-assign one of your existing villagers to an animal house.

New Lego Fortnite skins

Epic Games has added over 100 new Lego Fortnite skins for existing Fortnite skins so be sure to check your locker to see if one of your skins got a Lego variant in this update.
